products company. The company offers thousands types of medical
devices including surgical devices, energy based devices as well as
vascular therapy solutions. Recently Covidien has identified Emerging
Markets worldwide – with a particular emphasis on Asia and a focus on
China and India – as offering significant potential for organizational
growth and business success. The Medical Devices Emerging Markets R&D
organization located in Shanghai has various ongoing projects to
develop innovative medical device products, which aim at tailoring
product features based on local market needs and balancing cost and
expected product features. We are looking for self-motivated talent
students to participate in.
Responsibility:
The intern will follow design iterations and focus on industrial
design aspects of several medical devices (incl. energy based devices,
vascular therapy devices,therapeutic medical devices ), to improve its
user interaction and usability via user tests. The interns will work with
other talented R&D staff in Covidien, and will be encouraged to think
out of box and find innovative solutions for real-life problems. The
candidate has to be available for a period at least 3 months and at least
4 days/week working in the office.
Requirements:
--Self-motivated Master student
Excellent skills in sketching, visualization, modeling via various
design tools and user research
--Proven background and project experience in the industrial design area
Good communication skill, think out of box, willing to work in an
multi-culture environment
